The I-94 can have an impact on the E2 visa
Upon entering the US on an E2 visa, you will be required to present your documents for verification and authentication at the immigration office.
Immigration officers from the Department of Homeland security (DHS) will stamp your 1-94 form. They will also record your duration of status (D/S) and your class of admission, which in this case, is ‘E-2’.
What is recorded in your 1-94 form as D/S is the actual E2 visa validity. The decision to grant a specified duration is the sole mandate of the immigration department.
If the length is far less than you anticipated, you can always renew your E2 visa at the lapse of the period of stay.
